1974~1985 Php2.00 Ang Bagong Lipunan Series

November 3, 2011
The Ang Bagong Lipunan series literally means "The New Society Series". The name used to refer to Philippine banknotes issued on 1973 to 1985 by the Central Bank of the Philippines as replacement of Pilipino Series. Denomination of the ABL series is 2-piso to 100-piso.

Obverse: Jose Rizal
Reverse: Decleration of Independence
Color: Blue

In 1981 when Pope John Paul II visited the Philippines from February 17 to February 21, 1981 the Banko Sentral released a new banknote with overprint commemorating the Papal visit in the country.

So sad, I only owned two of this. One is black colored serial number and the other one is red. Which is I find interesting, I'm not quite sure yet the deference between the two colors stand for.
