Lettering: CENTRAL BANK OF THE PHILIPPINES. REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES

Reverse: Lady Liberty with Hammer. Smoking Volcano on the right. Beaded circle around rim.
Lettering: TEN CENTAVOS.1966

1903-1936 Once Centavo (US Administration)

After the Spanish-American War in 1898, Philippines were ceded to United States as part of their settlement between Spain and US. During the US administration, they issued a coinage for the Philippines Islands under the commonwealth regime until 1935.

Commemorating Philippine Culture Decade, One Peso. I know this coin long ago at my school days and used this to buy some sweets, at that time... I'm not quite yet interested to collect coins. I purchased this item now (2011) to other trader for the price of Php20.00/pc.
